My Story
Widny Bazile, the founder of Widny Studios and Widny Coiffure is a Haitian-born model, hairstylist, photographer, fashion designer and creative director based in Los Angeles, CA. She’s known for combining editorial fashion, wearable hair artistry, crochet coiffure couture designs, sculptural furniture arts and elements of photographic art into multidisciplinary creative work, often celebrating black hair textures and Haitian Creole culture.
From a very young age Widny knew she was destined for greatness, a future filled with artistic opportunities. She is self-taught and totally allowed all her imaginations, faith, hard work and real connections lead her along the way. From starting to braid her own hair at the age of 6 years old in Haiti to hairstyling her friends in high school, working at different home salons, tons of fun and chaotic hair journeys to now inventing a new way of hair designing through crochet and various ways of combining hair into art. She believes everyday is the beginning, a brand new one to welcome cool ideas, peculiar activities and adventures … and everyday is an opportunity to elevate yesterday. Be optimistic, allow your inner child to live and create something new today.

Some defining aspects of her work:
Crochet creole coiffure couture for the culture and sculptural hairstyling — She creates elaborate braided style sculptures and wearable coiffure crochet designs.
Editorial photography & creative direction — Many of her shoots are self-directed, where she simultaneously handles hair, makeup, styling, photography, set design, lighting and artistic directions.
Celebration of Afro-textured hair — Her work responds to the lack of care for textured hair in fashion and beauty industries, centering black beauty in a high-fashion visual language.
Haitian influence — She often describes Haiti as the foundation of her aesthetic and creative identity, bringing Haitian visual culture into contemporary fashion artistic imageries.
Welcome to the journey of coiffure and culture ! We hope you enjoy the art half as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. Thank you.
